Climate Change Monitoring - News : Pine Island Glacier In Antarctica Splits: "Antarctica's Pine Island Glacier has calved, forming a new iceberg that is 277 square miles in size and is almost as big as New York City. Scientists have predicted the glacier to split since October 2011. Iceberg formation like this is natural, but often it is caused by global warming and climate change."
